Two examples:
Лев Николаевич Толстой (Lev Nikolayevhich Tolstoy)
Лев - is the first name
Николаевич - is the patronymic, or middle name (Hint: his father's name was Nikolai)
Толстой - is the surname, or last name (or family name)
Владимир Владимирович Путин (Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin)
Владимир - is the first name
Владимирович - is the patronymic, or middle name (Hint: his father's name was Vladimir)
Путин - is the surname, or last name (or family name)
For Western Union (and other) you need only "first name" and "surname"!
In my example, this "Лев Толстой (Lev Tolstoy)" and "Владимир Путин (Vladimir Putin)".
Often the person's full name is written in another format:
Толстой Лев Николаевич (Tolstoy Lev Nikolayevhich)
Путин Владимир Владимирович (Putin Vladimir Vladimirovich)
Be careful!
Russian is my native language... |
